I had my ‘heal your body’ workshop and one participant said she had never felt that relaxed in all her life. I felt so honoured that I could have given that feeling to someone. The workshop was another huge success with everyone gaining something to take away for their meditative practice. I had one person who had never practiced meditation before and another who had been meditating for 14 years, but everyone enjoyed the workshop and gained a new insight.
My next workshop in Saltdean, Brighton is a life coaching one on 13th June and the next meditation one is ‘learn to relax’ on 20th June. It would be great to see you there!

Happy May Everyone!
April turned out to be very mixed in terms of energy, life and death so I have decided to start the newsletter with a short healing meditation. You can do this wherever you are at the moment or decide to take a few quiet moments out of your day to aid the healing.
When you are ready start taking deep abdominal breaths, inhaling through the nose and with each exhale letting the body relax. Repeat this breathing for at least 5 breaths. Then gently start bringing your focus to the centre of your chest – your heart chakra or energy centre. Focus your complete attention on this chakra; if other thoughts come into your mind, let them come and go, bringing your mind back to the heart. Start imagining a white light at your heart centre and then gently let this light expand into your whole being, healing each part of your body as it reaches it. Stay with this as long as you can and close your eyes to aid your meditation. It can be that our mind and body lacks energy and zest at the change of seasons and this is a wonderful healing meditation to combat this.
Staying with the topic of meditation, I finished the first draft of my book on meditation a couple of weeks ago. For those who have known me for a while, you’ll know that one of my childhood dreams was to be a published author. I hadn’t done much towards it apart from writing articles, so this is a definite step towards that dream! How many of you have a deep-buried dream, long forgotten due to everyday life taking over? It really is never too late to pursue it. Give me a call and we can discuss some goals to set, make sure you are living a life in balance and of course with the aid of meditation make your dream a reality.
My Saturday workshops start this weekend on 9th May and I am really looking forward to sharing my knowledge and guidance with those who want to learn the art of visualisation. Jay, my husband, has left for his tour around the UK and Ireland, see http://www.jayparmar.com for more information, so I am home alone!! I am looking forward to spending a lot of time on personal development and of course I have my two workshops. The first one is tomorrow at 11am and I am pleased to say is fully booked. Here are the details for the next meditation workshops in June and July:
Saturday 20th June 11am-2pm: Learn to Relax
This workshop concentrates on breathing and meditation techniques to aid the mind and body into relaxation. It is an ideal workshop for those suffering from insomnia or who find it difficult to quieten the mind.
The workshop begins with an explanation to meditation and how certain techniques can relax the body. After the tea break; pranayama (breathing techniques) is taught and simple meditations to quieten the mind. A deep relaxation meditation then follows.
Our final meditation will be on the beach where we will meditate towards the sea. The salt of the sea will cleanse our environment, our energy and our thoughts.
The day will end on the beach and there is a lovely cafe where we can get a bite to eat if we so wish!

Saturday 18th July 11am-2pm: Understanding Mudras (hand gestures)
Mudras are hand gestures or movements which are used to heighten the meditative experience. Certain points are pressed or touched which send out messages to the mind and aid the person’s meditation. A gesture or mudra which many people recognise are the prayer hands, or the palms and fingers pressed together.
The workshop begins with an indepth look at mudras and how they can aid meditation. After a tea break, meditations are performed with various mudras.
Our final meditation will be on the beach where we will meditate towards the sea. The salt of the sea will cleanse our environment, our energy and our thoughts.
The day will end on the beach and there is a lovely cafe where we can get a bite to eat if we so wish!

Saturday 13th June 1pm-5pm: Make Your Perfect Vision Board
A vision board is a picture of things you desire in your life put up somewhere you can see it daily. It helps you focus on what your goals and dreams are and keep them in your mind constantly. Our thoughts make up our world…therefore it is importantly to be constantly thinking about what you want!
The workshop will start with an explanation of a vision board, what it will bring into your life, and how to place it for the most effective gain. We will then have a meditation to become aware of our inner selves and to help our vision board come alive.
All the materials you will need to make the perfect vision board for you will be provided; such as magazine clippings, positive affirmations and inspirational quotations.
At the end of the workshop you will have your completed vision board to take away with you as an aid to living the life you dream of!!

Saturday 11th July 1pm-5pm: Effective Goal Setting
Setting goals is one of the first ways to achieve from your life exactly what you want. We’ll work through the processes of goal setting, how to set goals effectively and ways in which you can ensure your goals are met.
Please come prepared with some visions of the life you want! You will leave with a clear outline of your goals and how to achieve them.
