Michael Jackson and confidence building

In CategoryUncategorized
ByBindi

The last few days have been strange with all the news of Michael Jackson. I have tried not to read and believe everything, but the snippets I have processed all seem to lead to the ‘fact’ that he had a lack of self-esteem. It is difficult to believe that someone so larger than life, such an icon and hero to so many people would have a lack of self-esteem. But it is a topic I have been working on a lot this past month and in particular ways to boost confidence in people. Everyone in some  moment or point in their life would have had some self-doubt or lack of confidence, however small, but it is the ability to work through this and boost yourself up which will ultimately ensure your success.

The first step to building your confidence is to know you are living to your true values. What are your values? I don’t mean the ones you have inherited from your parents, from society or from your teachers, I mean the ones which are truly yours. If you feel great when you have no fixed plans, then you value freedom. If you feel great when reaching out to people, then you value connection. Knowing your values and living according to them is the first step in having true confidence in yourself.

The next step to building up your confidence is to believe in yourself, your abilities and in your success. Focus on your results and achievements and let go of the limiting or restrictive beliefs you may be holding on to. These are most probably from your childhood and do not have a place in the ‘adult you’. It would have been easy for Michael Jackson to continuously think back to his childhood and all the wrongs, but his determination to be successful is what won. He definitely had a lack of self-belief but I think the next step really boosted his success.

Build your confidence immensely by getting feedback from people about how well you’re doing. He obviously got this from his fans; but we can all get this same confidence by people around us. Why do clients like dealing with you? What results do they get? Know how people value you and in turn this will increase the vaule you have of yourself.

The final step I want to discuss here is to surround yourself with positive people. We all know someone who drains us of our energy or who is negative. Try to stay away from these people, or limit the time you spend with them. Instead surround yourself with positive people and see your confidence grow! With that final note, I’d like you to all join my facebook page, where I am posting positive and inspirational quotations and I’d like you to post yours too!

Hello Everyone,

I used most of today to prepare my workshop for tomorrow. It is a meditation workshop entitled ‘Learn to Relax’. We’re going to start with some deep breathing exercises plus a breath meditation, some visualisation, meditation on two chakras and a deep relaxation. It should be good and of course relaxing!!

I had another lovely Athena networking meeting yesterday in Lewes and did the talk again on self-confidence. It was well-received and I hope I did inspire some of them to believe in themselves and reach for the stars! Everything is possible! You just need to believe it and want it enough.

Well I am logging off for practically the whole weekend. Workshop tomorrow and then relaxation on Sunday…so ’see’ you next week.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend.

Relaxation

In CategoryUncategorized
ByBindi

Hello! It’s another beautiful day here as I write this overlooking the sea. I am going to finish my day soon to do my yoga routine and then go and meditate on the beach! I have been preparing my workshop for Saturday: ‘Learn to Relax’ and looking forward to teaching the participants to relax and start enjoying themselves in life without the anxiety and worry. Most of what we worry about will never happen, so why waste precious moments and sometimes hours or even days on things which will never occur.

I hope I am growing in this relaxed attitude myself. The more relaxed you can be, the better focused you’ll be in getting things done. When opportunities come along, you’ll know to take them rather than missing them due to your mind being full of worry instead of clarity. How wonderful to have such a clear mind that you never doubt yourself – you never doubt your abilities or decisions and can make decisions and act on them rather than procrastinating. Wouldn’t that be great? Start by practising some relaxation tehniques such as deep breathing or deep relaxation and very soon – probably sooner than you think- your mind will be clear, relaxed and focused.

Have a wonderful day,

Marketing Day!

The talk on inspiration and building self-confidence went really well and it has inspired me as well to publish my main tips of increasing self-confidence, so stay tuned! I’ll probably publish as an article first.

Jay, my husband, has gone to the London Guitar Show. I’m sure he’ll be marketing himself there and for some reason, today has worked out as a marketing day for me too! I’ve listened to a call about websites and optimising your website to drive traffic to it and realised that my site is not great as this :-( I am going to embark on a 28 day programme to change this…so pop back in mid-July and see lots of changes to the main website www.anamaya.net and maybe the blog too.

I’ve learnt a lot in the past two weeks about marketing myself and staying focused. I think I was trying to do too much and it had become overwhelming. I am now focusing on a limited number of strategies and doing these well and CONSISTENTLY – something I learnt from my Athena networking lunch. It is great being able to use these processes and being inspired myself by the results I am getting as it is this inspiration and confidence I am sharing with and teaching to my clients. I’ll have a confidence building workshop soon!!

Have a fantastic weekend and ‘live the life you dream of..’ -  you know you can!

Inspiration & Meditation!

Just working on my talk at the Athena women’s networking meeting tomorrow in Eastbourne. I am doing an inspirational talk on building self-confidence and ways to do this. My confidence has really grown by speaking to the participants on the workshops and seeing how they have benefited from just 3 hours of meditation and inspiration! I hope you received the newsletter with the feedback, if not look at the last post and e-mail me on bindi@anamaya.net and I’ll put you on my list.

I have my last meditation class today on ‘Learn to Relax’ and then from next week we start with ‘Visualisation’. I have spaces available for anyone wanting to attend a daytime class. My next Saturday workshop should be full, but if it is something you want to attend, please  do let me know and I can put on an extra workshop.

I look forward to hearing any comments and of course inspirational quotes if you have them.

Lots of love,

June Newsletter

Hello everyone and welcome to June :-)

Wow the weather is really hotting up with the hottest weekend of the year so far recorded in the UK! There is an excellent breathing exercise you can do to cool the body down if it gets too hot for you!

Curl or roll the tongue and inhale the breath through the tongue into the mouth. The breath will feel cool as it enters the mouth and it is this cooling effect which will go on to cool the body. Once the breath has been inhaled, close the mouth and exhale gently through the nose. As the breath is inhaled through the mouth and not cleansed by the nostrils before entering the lungs, it is important that this breathing exercise is not practised in a polluted environment. Similarly this breath should not be practised in cold weather as the nostrils are not involved in heating the air before it enters the lungs. This cooling breath is excellent to ease any heat conditions in the body such as ulcers, hypertension, skin problems and acidity. Try it and feel the cooling effect! If you would like some more Ayurveda tips on living your life according to the seasons see my full article on http://anamaya.net/Web/Pages/Articles.html.

The May meditation workshops were a HUGE success with everyone gaining so much. Thank you to all those who attended and here are some comments:

‘Really loved the session, so glad I did it. Enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and the finishing on the beach.’ C. Perry

‘Even though this was my first experience of meditation I could immediately see that it is something that will enhance the rest of my life and I thank you wholeheartedly for that.’ D. Holt

‘I noticed a difference yesterday when something happened which would have made me dance with rage last week. I accepted what had happened and that I couldn’t change it so I had to move on – wonderful – no more high blood pressure!!’ M. Mottram

‘It has definitely given me a different outlook and I seem less stressed after taking just 10 minutes out to concentrate on me!’ T. Lankstead

The beauty of meditation is that it is all within you. I am just the facilitator and I guide you through the techniques and how it will help you achieve everything you want. You get out of it exactly what you need and also the effort you put in, so well done to everyone who was at the workshops as I know you have put in a lot of effort to get your wonderful results!

If you would also like to experience the lovely workshops in Saltdean with an ending beach meditation or a life coaching workshop to get to your dreams, see http://anamaya.net/Web/Pages/Workshops.html for full details or contact me directly: 01273 302 350 or bindi@anamaya.net.
