Our precious lives

The passing away of my cousin this week has reinstated how precious and fragile life is.

Although he was only 44 years old, Samir led a very full and happy life. He was born inMombasa and one of his life-long ambitions was to move to England. I remember how when I used to visit over the summer, he would want to talk about all things English. He fulfilled this dream just two years ago by moving to London and will leave the world aware that his kids will have a better education – which was something which he valued and wanted to provide for them.

So life is precious and fragile – make the most of all your days; so however long or short your whole life is, you know that your days have been well-spent and without regrets.

Many people have ambitions which they want to fulfil in their lives but never get around to it. If there is anything you want to achieve in your life, do not wait until a later stage…start the process now and before you know it one of your ambitions will be achieved.

Welcome to Spring!

The weather here has definitely warmed up, the days are longer and there is a spring in people’s steps.
It is truly wonderful being by the sea in this season.

Welcome to all my new subscribers whom I met at the ‘Spirit of the Millenium’ show in Hove last Sunday. It was wonderful meeting you all and I hope you had as an enjoyable day as I did.

The last month has been one of immense growth for me. The results my students have had from the meditation classes and workshops have amazed them – I’m pleased that so many people have embraced meditation and it is wonderful what a difference it is making to their lives. That is what my ‘live the life you dream of..’ programme is all about. It doesn’t have to be the big dreams which make a difference to your life…the everyday lessening of chatter and worry can be all the change you need to really make a difference to your life and so starting living the life you dream of… which may in essence be the same life but simpler!

With simpler in mind, please do check my blog out for making your e-mail life easier. A lot of us are tending to become more and more inundated with e-mails as technology progresses and more of our networks start being online. I have written seven ways to make e-mails easier so do take a look at the blog and add your comments: http://anamaya.net/Blog/?p=261

Thank you to all of you for spreading the word about the LIFEstival, the health and well-being show in Saltdean 1-2 May 2010, I look forward to seeing you there and if you’d like one of the stands please get in touch. 50% of all our proceeds will be to the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, who provide much-needed care and support for families when a child develops a life-limiting illness. For more information see the website www.lifestivaluk.com.

I thought I’d end on a meditation to truly still the mind as that has been the focus in the last month.

Take a few moments to get comfortable, so roll your shoulders back and relax your arms. Then when you’re ready start observing your breath. You don’t need to take deep or long breaths, but just observe and be aware of the way you are breathing. Is your breath hurried? Is it regular? Is this the first time you have ever thought ot your breath? As you start becoming more aware of your breathing, relax and let go of any tension you have. Gradually start taking deeper breaths and then slower breaths, especially on the exhalations. Keep all your focus on the breath, letting other thoughts go. Keep with this breathing meditation until your mind feels calmer and more at ease.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone and enjoy the March sunshine :)
